Turkey Day Battle

One of the NFL's biggest rivalries... Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys ! Thanksgiving day....what better way to celebrate than with a great game while you eat. We would get the ball first and open up with a smooth drive all the way to the redzone. A little fake to McCoy and Sanchez keeps it for a 2 yard TD run for the first points of the game. Defense on the field with a big task trying to handle Dez Bryant and NFL rushing leader DeMarco Murray. D held the Cowboys to an 11 play drive that lead to a punt. Back on Offense we continue to drive down the field. Then Sanchez finds rookie Jordan Matthews for a 27 yard TD pass. 1st quarter looking good as we lead 14-0. You can't get too hype besucase the Cowboys are a strong team, they drove down the field and Murray got up the middle for a 1 yard TD. The offensive drive continues as we move down the filed again but this time a TD pass was broken up by Barry Church and Parkey came on the field for a 31 yard FG. The rest of the 2nd quarter would slow down with constant stops and good defense. We did manage to pull out 2 FG from Parkey to put us up 23-7 at half. 2nd half would open up with back and fourth stops but the Cowboys would get a FG out of the process. After that FG by the Cowboys our offense would get back on track and Shady McCoy would get busy down the field for a 38 yard TD run. The start of the 4th quarter we would drive one more time but couldn't convert the TD so Parkey came on the field to put up the 25 yard FG. That would be the last points of the game as the defense would hold the Cowboys to 10 points in a great Eagles win!

*Side Notes*
That win put us on top of the NFC East by 1 game at 9-3 and the Cowboys now 8-4. We have the defending champs Seahawks next week.

Final Score 33-10 Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Mark Sanchez- 20/29 217 Yards 1 Touchdown 0 Interception
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 25 Touches 159 Yards 1 Touchdown
Receiving Leader: Jeremy Maclin- 8 Catches 108 Yards 0 Touchdown
Tackle Leader: Mychal Kendricks- 6 Tackles
Sack Leader *4 Tied* Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Casey Matthews & Vinny Curry- 1 Sack

Terrible Titans

Week 12 match up against Tennessee Titans. Josh Huff opened the game up with a 107 yard kickoff return. Nice way to start the game. Defense forced a quick 3 and out which lead to a Darren Sproles 4 yard TD. After that TD the 1st quarter would be a defensive match with consistent stops from both teams. We managed to get 1 FG in there, end of the first 17-0 in our favor. Titans would open up the 2nd quarter with a TD pass to Justin Hunter for 40 yards. We had a good offensive drive but could only come up with a FG on our next possession. The Titans offense would then drive down the field and get a 2 yard TD run from Shonn Green. Our offense seen what happened and would quickly return the favor with a great drive down the field and let Shady McCoy run in the TD for 2 yards. With the back and fourth scoring going on defense buckled down a little and only held the Titans to a FG to end the half at 27-17 Eagles. Defnese came out the gate pumped and ready stopping the Titans and forcing a punt which lead to Offense to go down the field and Sanchez to find James Casey for the 14 yard TD pass. The rest of the game would be full of stops and 3 FG makes from Cody Parkey and one late 4th quarter TD from the Titans. But it was too late for them.

*Side Notes*
That was a great way to bounce back from that beating we took. Now we need this momentum to carry on to thanksgiving day vs the Cowboys.

Final Score 43-24 Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Mark Sanchez- 30/43 307 Yards 1 Touchdown 2 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 21 Touches 130 Yards 1 Touchdown

Packers Gone Bird Hunting

Sunday at 4:25pm...Game of the week should be a good one right? WRONG! The first quarter was strictly all Packers. FG to a passing Touchdown then to a Punt return. Aaron Rodgers was picking our defense apart. Corners getting exposed and toasted, it was just bad. 2nd quarter down 17-0 we manage to put points on the board as Parkey kicks a FG. Back on defense the masaacre continues as Aaron Rodgers finds Jordy Nelson for the TD. Wait there's more! Packers back on offense as Eddie Lacey runs in for a TD (1 Yard). Back on O we can't get these 3rd down conversions so we settle for another FG. 30-6 at halftime, it's getting so bad for us. Packers start their 3rd quarter with a FG so defense did good not letting them score a TD. As Mark Sanchez has his pass swatted and caught by Julius Peppers for a 53 yard TD. Finally a sign of life as Sanchez finds Jordan Matthews for a 10 yard TD. That life was quickly taken away ass Aaron Rogers throws it to Eddie Lacey for the 32 yard TD. The Packers would go on to score one more time as would we. Terrible defeat.

*Side Notes*
Our corner back play has to step up. Bradley Fletcher gave up at least 150+ yards alone. We run a man to man coverage so when they were exposing him the Defensive coordinator should have made adjustments instead of letting your pride get in the way and not changing our scheme. We have the Titans next week so hopefully we can bounce back and put a beating on them.

Final Score 53-20 Eagles Defeat
Passing Leader: Mark Sanchez- 26/44 346 Yards 2 Touchdowns 2 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 23 Touches 88 Yards 0 Interceptions
Receiving Leader: Jordan Matthews- 5 Catches 107 Yards
Tackle Leader: Cary Williams- 7 Tackles
Sack Leader: Vinny Curry- 1 Sack

No Foles...No Problem

Monday night under the lights in the NFL is any football players dream. Being matched up against the struggling Panthers this game was in our favor by a little bit. Our defense came out strong forcing a fumble on the Panthers 3rd play of the game. Our redone offense isn't that great so we had Parkey come on the field to kick. It wasn't long before the next offensive drive that Darren Sproles found the endzone. Cam Newton lead a drive up the field for the Panthers as Stewart ran in the 2 yard TD. Darren Sproles...watch out for him 65 yard punt return to give us the 17-7 lead. Opening drive of the 2nd quarter we drive down the field and end up with Sanchez finding Jordan Matthews for the 13 yard TD. A couple back and fourth possessions then Cam throws a interception to Fletcher as he returns it for 34 yards and a TD. Going into the 3rd quarter we are destroying the Panthers 31-7. 2nd drive in the 3rd as LeSean McCoy finds the endzone on a 1 yard run. Fast forward to the 4th quarter Sanchez and Matthews connect again for a TD to put us up 45-7. The panther would go on to score 2 more times to end the game but the final score was 45-21 Eagles Victory.

Final Score 45-21 Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Mark Sanchez- 20/37 332 Yards 2 Touchdowns 0 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 12 Touches 19 Yards 1 Touchdown
Receiving Leader: Jordan Matthews- 7 Catches 138 Yards 2 Touchdowns
Tackle Leader: Mychal Kendricks- 8 Tackles
Sack Leader: Connor Barwin- 3 Sacks
*Special Teams*; Darren Sproles 65 yard punt return

Bad News

We get rising star linebacker Mychal Kendricks back but lose our defensive captian DeMeco Ryans for the year with right achilles injury. Nick Foles is out for about 6-8 weeks with a broken collarbone. Also G Todd Herremans has a bicep injury.

Injured Players:
Todd Herremans- Biceps
DeMeco Ryans- Right Achilles
Nick Foles- Broken Collarbone
Chris Prosinski- Elbow
Evan Mathis- Sprained left MCL
Allen Barbre- Right Ankle
Najee Goode- Torn pectorals
Travis Long- Torn left ACL

We need the players that are healthy to come together because we have a big game against the Panthers coming up.

Sanchez to the rescue

On Sunday we had the task of going up against the Texans. With J.J. Watt on their front line this wasn't gonna be a walk in the park. We opened up our offensive drive with a with a 3 and out but the defense quickly returned the favor to the Texans. 2nd drive ended up with Foles throwing a bomb to J-Mac for 59 yards. Defense holds it down to force a punt but Foles gives the ball right back when he throws a pick 6. Back on offense at the end of the 1st quarter Foles gets smashed and won't come back into the game because of a broken collar bone. We all begin to worry as Mark Sanchez takes the field. With a calm, cool swag Mark comes on the field and throws a bomb to J-Mac for 52 yards. A couple plays later Sanchez throws a nice pass to Jordan Matthews for 11 yards. Sanchez's first passing TD as an Eagle. Back on offense Sanchez throws a nice pass to Josh Huff but Huff lets it hit his hands and the defender grabs it. It's Sanchez's first interception in his new uniform, I don't like those kind of interceptions when it's the recievers fault. That shouldn't be labeled as the QBs fault. With the Texans on offense Fitzpatrick finds his star running back on a wheel route for a 56 yard TD. We manage to put up a FG before halftime so the score is 17-14 in our favor. In the 3rd quarter we have a good offensive drive that ends up in a Chris Polk 8 yard TD to put us on top 24-14. Texans star running back Foster hurts his ankle and is done for the day, there were a lot of injures this game. Back on O Sanchez throws a pick and this one is his fault 100% a miscommunication between him and Cooper. With the Texans moving down the field in the redzone DeMeco Ryans comes up with an interception but drops the ball and falls to the ground with an achilles injury. We will miss his great playing, but that quickly turned into a Texans TD to put the score at 24-21. On O again we have a great drive that ends up in another TD pass from Sanchez to J-Mac. That would wrap the game up and give us the victory.

Inches or Defense..?

After a bye week the Cardinals were the next opponent in line. October 26th 4:05pm was kick off for the game. With both teams coming in 5-1 everyone expected a great game. With Maclin getting back to his old ways it wouldn't be long before Foles found him open for a 21 yard TD. Our defense has been great this year but the Cards aren't a soft team and they drove up the field to tie the game at 7. Great defense on both sides would hold the score to 7 a piece at halftime. Cards receive the kick at halftime and now the mighty Eagles defense is up. 2 great stops make it 3rd and 10 on their 20 but our DBs have a fall out and allow Larry Fitzgerald to catch an 80 yard pass for a TD. That drive lasted 52 seconds, defense has to do better. The ball goes back and fourth until we finally get a good drive but have to settle for a 54 yard FG by Cody Parkey. Not to downplay Parkey, he has been great this year. With the score 14-10 late in the 3rd the Cards are up but not for long as Foles finds Maclin for a 54 yard TD that puts us on top 17-14. Into the fourth quarter the game has the same back and fourth pace. The Cards manage to make it down the field but defense holds them to a FG which ties the game at 17. Next drive is a great offensive drive for us which has us on the 2 yard line with 4th and inches. Now im sure everyone in their right mind would take these odds to go for it, not just because you're on the 2 yard line but it's 4th and INCHES. Push come to shove if we don't score getting the first down is beyond easy with a QB sneak. Mind you it's 2 minuets left in the game. I would rather go for it and live with those odds then settle for a FG when we're on the 2 yard line. What's the worst that can happen? We don't score and have to play defense against the Cards starting on the 2 yard line with 2 timeouts left in the fourth quarter with 2 minuets left in the game. I would rather take that option but I'm not the coach Chip Kelly is and he decides to kick a FG that puts us on top 20-17. 1:56 left on the clock as the Cards start on their 20 yard line. One pass is completed and the next is incomplete, 3rd and 5 with 1:33 left on the clock. Carson Palmer goes to a military base and borrows a bomb, 75 yard bomb to John Brown for a TD. DBs completely breakdown and leave Brown wide open. Cards on top 24-20 late in the 4th, we attempt to score get to the 16 yard line and run out of time. Terrible way to lose.

*Side Notes*
I think that Chip should have went for that TD instead on a FG while we're on the 2 YARD LINE! Also defense has to get it together, I've always been skeptical of our DBs, they're not that great to me. They get beat a lot, I think Brandon Boykin should be given a chance to start a corner instead of Fletcher. Also people are questioning Nick Foles since he's not having the same kind of year he did before. I personally thick Nick is overrated, he was put on too high of a pedestal so now people expect too much. But we have the Texans next week so that will be a challenge.

Final Score 24-20 Eagles Loss
Passing Leader: Nick Foles- 36/62 411 Yards 2 Touchdowns 2 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 21 Touches 83 Yards 0 Touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Jeremy Maclin- 12 Catches 187 Yards 2 Touchdowns
Tackle Leader: Malcolm Jenkins- 5 Tackles
*There were no sacks recorded on this game on either side*

Bye Week..

A couple days after the blow against New York we released offensive lineman Wade Smith and signed Julian Vandervelde. Vandervelde was originally a 5th round pick in the 2011 draft. There are no updates with Darren Sproles, to my knowledge he's getting treatment so he can suit up on Sunday. In our division the Giants took a loss to the Cowboys which puts them not only on top the NFC East but the entered NFC with a 6-1 record. Peyton Manning also broke the record for most TDs as a quarterback with 510! That's amazing and the season is still young, that's a scary sight. Congrats to one of the greats.

Philly the Giant Slayers!

#BlackSunday was the hashtag for Sundays match against long time rival New York Giants. The game opened up with offense looking good but could not get a TD on the first drive so we settled for 3 points. Defense wasn't playing any games coming out strong attacking the Giants forcing a punt. As I've been saying Shady will have a break out game and today was the day. Breaking for runs and finding lanes made our offense move smoothly and Foles found Ertz for the TD. Game goes on there are consistent defensive stops by the Eagles, the defensive was in a zone! Later in the 2nd quarter Foles finds Casey for the 26 yard TD that bumps the score up to 17-0 but we would get a field goal before half time. In the 3rd quarter Giants receiver Victor Cruz suffered a torn patella tendon, he may be the opponent but you never want to see a player get hurt like that. Back on offense Shady breaks for his biggest gain of the night 28 yards down the field racking up a total of 149 yards on the night!(Breakout game) A quick hand slap from Shady to Sproles and Sproles gets the ball and runs in for a TD. That would be the last TD for the entire game as our defense shut the Giants out!

*Side Notes*
Bad news! Darren Sproles got injured late in the third quarter. Rumors are that it might be and ACL or MCL related injury but hopefully thats not the case. Darren said after the game "He will be alright"  We do have a bye week so thats a plus for him and other injured players to get rest and treatment.  Defense was absolutely amazing shutting out the Giants and racking up 8 sacks! Next week is a bye week so players can rest a little and we play the Arizona Cardinals the following week.

Final Score 27-0 Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Nick Foles- 21/34 248 Yards 2 Touchdowns 2 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 22 Touches 149 Yards 0 Touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Zach Ertz- 3 Catches 47 Yards 1 Touchdown

Sack Leader: Connor Barwin- 3 Sacks

Pre-Game Giants October 12th 8:30pm

Last week against the Rams our special teams scored another TD. That makes number 4 on the year,  it will be great to see them do it again. The offense improved putting up some good points and the run game surely improved. The Giants have a tough front defensive line which might be a problem for the run game but I always have faith in Shady and he's due for a break out game. Push comes to shove running will be limited and Foles will have to let it fly. Playing against the Giants is always a good matche, dating back to the amazing comeback when the Giants lead the Eagles 31-10 and DeSean Jackson had the memorable punt return for the game winning TD. I personally want our receivers to embarrass Giants conrerbacks Rodgers-Cromartie and Amukamara for taking this picture with a Giants fan and posting it.

The disrespect....But I'll take a good old fashion win against our rivals. Wins are always sweeter against a rival. We will be wearing our black jerseys for this game, #BLACKOUT

Rumble With The Rams

The date was Sunday October 5th when the St. Louis Rams came into town. Game started off great with our special teams blocking a punt and Chris Maragos picking it up and scoring the first TD of the game. The defense was holding up very well stopping the Rams on their drive but our offence still couldn't put up points so we settled for a couple field goals. The defense had  a breakdown and gave up a passing TD to Brian Quick but offence returned the favor. In the redzone (where we are not that great at scoring) Nick Foles lobs up a pass for the big body Riley Cooper and Cooper comes down with the catch over the defender for a TD. Standing at 6'4 230 lbs Cooper had the size advantage over Janoris Jenkins only standing at 5'10 198 lbs. Defense back on the field as the vet Trent Cole gets a sack and Cedric Thornton scoops and scores. Thornton would get another fumble recovery on the next defensive stand and run with it for 40 yards. With the great field position on the 24 yard line Foles throws a beauty to a wide open Jeremy Maclin for the TD. Defense gets a stop but Foles scrambles and fumbles on the offensive drive which leads to a Rams TD. Eagles up 34-21 late in the fourth quarter and the secondary gives up a TD pass to Brian Quick once again. With 1:30 left in the game it looks like the Rams could make a come back but defense stops them and that's all she wrote.

*Side Notes*
LeSean McCoy didn't have a spectacular game but it was nice to see him have 81 yards, hopefully this can spark the run game for the future. Our defense was holding up good but had a couple of secondary breakdowns which lead to TDs. Can't let that happen especially late in the game.

Final Score 34-28 Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Nick Foles- 24/37 207 Yards 2 Touchdowns 1 Interception
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 24 Touches 81 Yards 0 Touchdowns 1 Fumble
Receiving Leader: Jeremy Maclin- 5 Catches 76 Yards 1 Touchdown
Tackle Leader: DeMeco Ryans- 7 Tackles
Sack Leader: Connor Barwin- 2 Sacks
*Special Teams: Chris Maragos- 1 Touchdown
*Defense Highlight: Cedric Thornton 2 Fumble Recoveries 1 Touchdown

Pre-Game Rams Sunday October 5th 1:00pm

After a terrible display by the offence I expect them to come out with force and run up the score on the Rams Sunday at 1 pm. LeSean McCoy has been struggling so far this year but he might explode Sunday with the return of Lane Johnson. Lane should give the offence a spark and that should open up holes for Shady so we can see some big plays. Nick Foles has been dealing with a sore left shoulder but will suit up and start in Sundays game. The defense was amazing last game and should come out with the same intensity even though play making linebacker Mychal Kendricks will not suit up. Eagles sit on top of the NFC East at 3-1 tied with the Cowboys so a win would be good to keep us in the top spot.

Probable Players:
Jeremy Maclin(Hamstring)

Close But No Cigar

September 28th 4:25pm was the date and time scheduled for the Eagles to play against the San Fran 49ers. The odds were in the 49ers favor for them to blow the Eagles out of the water but the game started with a different twist. Special teams got the spark started for the Eagles with a blocked punt in the endzone in result of a touchdown. From that point the defensive effort by the Eagles was at an all time high, plenty of 3 and outs(Made the opposing team punt on 4th down) and getting a bunch of bodies on Colin Kaepernick. It was a chippy game but the Eagles offense couldn't score in a whore house. Just disappointment every drive, LeSean McCoy was quite, receivers were clamped down it was just a bad day for the O. Special teams saves the day again with an 82 yard punt return from Darren Sproles. Defense was still putting on a show stopping San Fran on some possessions but Eagles offense turned the ball over and gave San Fran great field position for a TD. The rest of the game was back and fourth stops but no production from the Eagles offense but the 49ers managed to get a field goal in the 4th quarter. Eagles rally and have a great drive down the field but get stopped on 4th and goal and the game is done.
*Side Notes*
LeSean McCoy hasn't been able to produce over 80 yards in a game this season, only totaling 192 yards throughout 4 games. This is not the performance you expect from the Rushing Leader of last year but the changes to the Eagles offense might be the reason. The Eagles let leading receiver DeSean Jackson go and that took a major toll on McCoy. Defensed had to play and extra 10-15 yards back because of Jackson's speed, it was so deadly it opened up the field for McCoy and getting yards was easy as putting on slippers. Now that Jackson is gone teams can stack the box and give McCoy a hard time getting yards. Plus the Eagles offensive line isn't what you would label the best. I say Chip Kelly needs to find a solution for this McCoy problem because if he can't produce in this offense any playoff and championship dreams can go right down the drain.

Final Score 26-21 Eagles Loss
Passing Leader: Nick Foles- 21/43 195 yards 0 Touchdowns 2 Interceptions
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 10 Touches 17 Yards 0 Touchdowns
Receiving Leader: Jeremy Maclin- 5 Catches 68 Yards 0 Touchdowns
Tackle Leader: Cary Williams- 7 Tackles
Interception Leader: Malcolm Jenkins- 1 Interception 1 Touchdown
*Special Teams: Darren Sproles- 1 Touchdown
                            Brad Smith- 1 Tocuhdown

Battle In Philly

Sunday September 21 was a scheduled match between division rivals Philadelphia Eagles & Washington Redskins. These games always are tough, physical and scrappy battles but the addition of former Eagles receiver Desean Jackson to the Redskins roster added fuel to the fire. The game started off how everyone thought with pushing and shoving from who...DeSean Jackson. Eagles fans can't really be mad at him because he got let go, he didn't choose to leave. The game was close with touchdowns being exchanged when we saw a flashback of DeSean running down the field at full speed for a 81 yard touchdown, this time he had a different jersey on then Eagles fans are use to. Tensions running high when QB Nick Foles gets a late hit and a scrap breaks out which gets Pro Bowl lineman Jason Peters ejected from the game. Eagles don't let things like that phase them, we rally back and close the game out for a sweet victory against our division rivals.

Final Score 37-34- Eagles Victory
Passing Leader: Nick Foles- 27/41 325 Yards 3 Touchdowns
Rushing Leader: LeSean McCoy- 19 Touches 22 Yards
Receiving Leader: Jeremy Maclin- 8 Catches 154 Yards 1 Touchdown
Tackle Leader: Bradley Fletcher- 9 Tackles
Interception Leader: Malcolm Jenkins 1 Interception
